Translation of a book for teenagers

FR → UKR

Assignment: translate an illustrated book for teenagers from French to Ukrainian

Interpreting at international events by Open Government Partnership

UKR ↔ ENG

Assignment: simultaneous interpretation of participants' presentations, both prepared and improvised, at a multilingual online event (English, Russian, Mongolian, Korean, Dari) from English into Russian and vice versa with the use of relay (interpreting a colleague's interpretation)

Challenge: typical challenges for online events where it is not possible to ensure that all the participants have equally good sound and connection include participants' sound breaking up, different volume levels for different participants, as well as vague phrasing, an increased use of the local context (including proper names) and the need to interpret presentations delivered particularly quickly due to time constraints

Client: Open Government Partnership

Result: "Natalia is a delight to work with - the quality of her job, her responsiveness, thoroughness, and professionalism are constantly noted by our colleagues and stakeholders.  In addition, at OGP we operate in a specific language and use technical vocabulary that is always applied by Natalia with a high degree of accuracy and resourcefulness." — Patrycja Pańczyk, OGP.

Translation of a solo board game

ENG → UKR

Assignment: translate the content, rules, names and inscriptions of a board game

Challenge: the need to figure out how the game worked using online sources and feedback due to the game being physically unavailable to the team, and to consult experts in the field to identify how to best translate certain elements of gameplay. In addition, it was necessary to shorten some elements without losing meaning due to the constraints of the original layout

Result: the game is available for purchase here
